With CyberDisc’s Nodescan Server you can create a custom, personal, private server. With Nodescan Client, a dedicated client for Nodescan Server, you can connect to the aforementioned custom server. That is, in a nutshell, the functionality you can expect to get from Nodescan Server and Nodescan Client.

Both applications provide support for multiple platforms. You can use Nodescan Server on a machine powered by Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux. You can do the same with Nodescan Client. Please note that to run Nodescan Client, you will need Java 1.6 or newer, Windows XP or newer, Mac OS X 10.5 or newer, Fedora 17 or newer.

All the functionality Nodescan Client has to offer is conveniently presented on a toolbar-like interface. It lists large buttons that you can use to connect to a server, view a list of contacts, initiate a chat with others, access the Settings menu, and more. The interface is so simple that you won’t have any problems figuring it out.

As previously mentioned, with Nodescan Server you can create, run, and manage a personal, private server. Nodescan Client is a dedicated client for Nodescan Server. You have a central location for managing contacts, chatting with contacts, sharing files with contacts, and more.

Get Nodescan Client and easily connect to a server created with Nodescan Server. You can then chat with others, share files, and more.

Pros

Just like Nodescan Server, Nodescan Client provides support for multiple platforms; both are Java-based applications that work with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Nodescan Client has a user friendly, toolbar-like interface; large buttons for all the functionality it has to offer are conveniently presented on the interface. Nodescan Client is a dedicated client for Nodescan Server.

Cons

Nodescan Client, at the time of writing this, is still in Beta (and so is Nodescan Server).
